Born & raised in Canada, Michiko has always had a passion for the arts. After earning a degree in music, Michiko studied makeup artistry in LA then moved to NYC, where she continued her studies, focusing on hair. Michiko is based in New York City where she works as a freelance hair stylist/makeup artist. Her work can be seen on the covers of Numero Homme, Interview, Hamptons and New York Magazine as well as publications in glossies Esquire, W Magazine, V Magazine, Vanity Fair and dozens more. She worked for 10 years as a personal HMU artist for Yoko Ono Lennon and has worked with many celebrities including Bobby Flay, Eva Longoria, Pharrell Williams, & Ashley Graham to name a few. She can be found backstage during fashion week in New York as well in London, Milan and Paris with top hair teams. Michiko stays busy getting clients ready for red carpet events and working on fashion, beauty and editorial shoots. Additionally she works as a platform educator in hair styling as well as hair and makeup for commercials, videos and television. She has made many appearances on TV as a beauty expert and is a member of IATSE Local 798 Union for hair. In her free time, Michiko stays busy spending her time chasing after her two young children and husband. She is represented by Bryan Bantry Agency in NYC.
